On 16th April 2026 the International DoSEL Showcase started in Valletta, Malta! It will take place untill 22nd April and will host four international performances, text readings, discussions, research presentations and a workshop.

The second DoSEL International Showcase will take place in Valletta, hosted by the National Agency for the Performing Arts Malta and Teatru Malta. The showcase emphasizes translation as a living artistic practice, fostering encounters between playwrights, translators, dramaturgs, performers, researchers, and audiences. The programme will host four performances from Malta, Slovenia, Croatia and Estonia, as well as discussions, exchange, workshops and a research presentation.

The Translation Workshop will focus on the translation and adaptation of plays through an exchange between Estonian, Slovenian and British writers and

The Translation Workshop will focus on the translation and adaptation of plays between Catalan and Maltese, using English as a lingua franca, fostering cross-linguistic and cultural exchange. The translation workshop is hosted by Sala Beckett in Barcelona from 13th to 16th October 2025.

The Satellite Showcase will be hosted by the Cankarjev Dom Cultural Centre in Ljubljana, Slovenia on the 2nd October 2025, presenting a conference on drama in smaller European languages and the performance MOTO – Membra Jesu Nostri, produced by Teatro Arriaga from Bilbao, which will be performed in the Basque and Spanish languages and subtitled in Slovenian language.

At the workshop, from 26 to 30 April at the Arriaga Theatre in association with Etxepare Euskal Institutua, three translators will be fine-tuning the translations, working closely alongside the Basque and Albanian playwrites Sagardoy and Neziraj to translate their theatre texts.

On World Theatre Day, 27 March 2025, the 55th Week of Slovenian Drama started. For the first time it presents the International Showcase DoSEL, which is taking place from 28th March to 1st April 2025.

Theatre professionals from Slovenia, Croatia, the Basque Country, Catalonia, Malta, and the United Kingdom gathered in Tallinn from 6th to 8th February for the DoSEL workshop and meeting, organised by Estonian Theatre Agency.

All the project partners of the DoSEL have gathered in Kranj, Slovenia on the 6th November for the first official DoSEL partner's meeting.
